Lacking .............

...... in inspiration and in time.
You get a macro-ey thing of a conifer branch ....

Mum has been discharged from hospital but, because of a badly written assessment by the hospital physiotherapy team, she has been temporarily placed in a retirement home with no nursing facilities, rather than a rehabilitation placement to help her build up her strength after thirteen weeks in a hospital dementia ward (she is as bright as a button) where they did very little to encourage her to exercise.  I AM CROSS! (Bearing in mind that she has numerous fractures of the spine, breast cancer, COPD and a variety of other problems I don't know what they were thinking of - I suspect "bed-blocking" was forefront in their thoughts - grrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

Luckily the people at the placement home are fabulous - they told me that they were expecting a lady who had much better mobility but they are doing everything they can to make it work for Mum.

They are incredibly  good with meals (if a resident doesn't fancy what's on the menu they will make something else) - they are friendly and professional - and they go and get Mum when they pop out for a sneaky cigarette which she much appreciates - although it takes her an age to walk to the little hidey-hole they have for "smoky-joes"  -  lol.

I think I am going to spend the next few weeks looking for somewhere that Mum will enjoy living long-term ...... as things stand she cannot manage living back her her beautiful little house - so upsetting for both of us.

So that's my grumble of the day - the UK health service ...... good and bad ........... at the moment the bad from the hospital is tempered with the good of the people who are looking after my Mum.
