Postcard from Christchurch
It was such a lovely warm day I took a walk around the city to catch up on what's happening since I was last there. It was amazing clouds, which you can't really see in any of these photos. A Nor West without wind, one minute it was sunny next it was overcast but it was hot for this time of year.
I found Chapman's Homer the bronze bull perched atop a grand piano in New Regent Street. You can see him, Middle Top in this collage. The bronze bull perched atop a grand piano, became a symbol of resilience when it was displayed after the quakes and now has a new grazing ground at the Gloucester St end of New Regent St for a month.
The 1.8-tonne sculpture by New Zealand artist Michael Parekowhai was purchased for the city in 2013 after the Christchurch Art Gallery Trust raised $200,000 on a crowdfunding website. For more information on Homer.
The Shot Top Right is where Smash Palace has moved to.. this was the blip I did the other day, where it use to be.
The Shot Bottom Left is the new Bus Exchange that is dew to open in two weeks. The are work all hours on it now to get it ready on time. Here is more inforamtion and videos of the new Bus Exchange. I have blipped it before in the early stages.
The other shots are of what's left of the Autumn colour in the city and the another building going up across from the new Bus Exchange.
