Times Of My Life

The Calm Between the Storms

It's been pretty wild for the last few days.  Torrential tropical type rain and wind, versus blue skies and warm sunshine.

'Ugly scenes' versus Ugly politicians.

Rampant racism versus ridiculous rhetoric.

All peaking at 10pm tomorrow night, when the Polls close, and it's too late for anyone to change their minds.  But that will just be the start - the horse trading will begin on Friday, when the results are in.

I am almost sick with anticipation!  I fully expect this will take days if not weeks to resolve, as everyone tries to find a way to make alliances without losing face.  Perhaps if the traditional big parties had just trusted us, the people, to choose for ourselves it would have been easier.  But they have far too much to lose - so they will continue to wriggle, and slander, and promise their way out of defeat.

I saw this lovely sunset as I made my way home tonight - I don't think it gives a fig about the election, but it did remind me that every day has a beginning and an end.

It's what we do with the bit in between that really counts.
