Findo Gask Polling Place
I was on polling duty outside my own polling place in the village this morning, from 9 - 11am. Thought I was togged up warm enough, as I had a showerproof coat with a hood on over a jersey and jeans, over-the-knee socks, and also had a scarf and gloves just in case.
Nipped home quickly afterwards, and put on a full set of thermal underwear, topped with a super-thick jersey, and woolly tights under the jeans. Topped that lot with my proper winter coat, and a huge scarf, with sheepskin mittens.
Yes, it's fair to say it was pretty cold in the wind! I was warmer while standing at Findo Gask polling place, a wee hall more or less in the middle of nowhere. I took over from another branch member, and handed on to yet another. We were the only party daft keen enough to man this station.
Home now having a rest and a wee snack, and then I'm going back out again from 6-8pm to Madderty Village Hall. Think I might get some company there. After that I'll be heading to the count in Alloa.
Safe to say, blipfriends, win, lose or draw, tomorrow is going to be a bit of a lost day as I'll be catching up on my sleep.
Hope (by magic) we all manage to get the candidate we voted for, whichever party that is, and that we'll still respect each other in the morning!
