Fiery Tulips at Harlow Carr.
If you like tulips RHS Harlow Carr near Harrogate was the place to be in this afternoon's May sunshine!
The tulips here were the main display with lots more, mainly in large pots. All were beautiful but the colour of these (not enhanced) just begged to be my blip for today.
The day started with our usual Thursday morning walk in very pleasant weather after the last two days of rain. We enjoyed lots more bluebells in the woods and 13 ducklings on Coppice Pond. One was larger than the rest and may be the only one left from the 10 we saw two weeks ago without any parental accompaniment. You can see them in my extra today or Wilsden Walker's blip.
We set off in the rain to Harlow Carr but after lunch at Betty's the sun came out and we were out in the gardens to take our fill of the fabulous tulips on display. If you want to see them have a look in my Flickr album.
It was so warm later we had tea at the outdoor kiosk and enjoyed sitting in the afternoon sun for about an hour. It meant returning home through the evening rush hour and polling mayhem but it was worth it.
I think these wonderful tulips are a fitting tribute to Molly (Amalarian - Tuscany) who posted her last blip 4 years ago today.
