Walk in the woods

I decided to put the littlest's claims of being a fan of walking to the test this morning with a walk in the woods.

I strapped him in the buggy for the walk up To school and to the parcel office and to lidl and then set him free as we reached the entrance to the estate. Then we dandered and ran and walked along the little paths, investigating and watching and picking up sticks and jumping in puddles (or puddies as he calls them). It was bliss. I am so grateful for this beautiful boy and his company. In the end he must have walked for almost 2 miles which might have explained why he slept for nearly 3 hours in his afternoon nap (although that also may be to do with the fact that he fell asleep last night at 9pm and was up this morning calling on his biggest brother to release him from his cot at 6.30am).

My middle boy is doing a project on Roald Dalh just now and had to come up with a sweetie named using alliteration based on the first letter of his name. We had fun with the dictionary trying to create something which sounded whacky and tempting.

I've just read my eldest boy the first chapter of a new book. He has finished several that he has really enjoyed recently and he can't settle on a new one, but this one, this one had him guffawing by the end of the first page so it should be good.
