Lancastrian Roses, or Poppies??

Leaving Accrington and walking down to Clayton there is a small park on the right. Painted on a rectangle of concrete were these flowers on a green background that matched the grass pretty well.
Are they Lancastrian Roses, or poppies? Four of us couldn’t agree - what do you think?
Unlike yesterday the sun shone fairly steadily today, which was good for the voters who turned out to elect the new Parliament.
