Balls out!

Well that was an interesting ride! I loved that the pundits were scoffing at the exit poll which slowly became more and more credible. I didn't stay awake all night - of course - but fell asleep somewhere around 01:30 and then back on the trail at 06:00. I missed the going of Douglas Alexander but it shows the brutality of politics; on Thursday morning he thought he'd be in a Labour cabinet by the weekend but he lost his job in the SNP landslide. There were a clutch of potential "Portillio Moments" but for me the main contender is the moment when Ed Balls, another bloke promised high office, was dumped by the voters of Morley and Outwood in favour of an OU graduate. I did a little dance when the results for South Thanet were announced too. I was sorry to hear about the going of the two LibDems in Sussex; I've met Stephen Lloyd a couple of times and he is a nice bloke and totally committed to Eastbourne. Any which way - it's done for a while and it's time to catch up on my sleep
