The Calm
Good to be back in Christchurch again for a while.
Started the day with a big supermarket trip to stock up the flat in town. Then down to our forlorn (but still beautiful) Scarborough home to check things out now that the tenants have moved out. Basically all OK, but I am left wondering about the future. It's not easy to find willing tenants for a property with walk on access only, especially with winter coming on. And who knows how long it is going to be before the repairs start. Southern Response is proving little better than EQC in making progress with the repair strategy. Fours years on and between EQC and Southern Response nothing much has happened - four years seemingly wasted.
But it was nice to be down there again today, the calm water and light on the Avon-Heathcote Estuary with a Nor-west arch of cloud developing, a run along Sumner beach, and then dinner this evening with our neighbours on Scarborough, catching up with all the local happenings.
