On the way to Skye
I had been looking at the forecast all week as we wanted to go away to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary but the forecast had been poor up until Thursday when it changed and predicted a bright and Sunny Friday and Saturday.
So Friday morning we packed our bags , jumped in the car and made our way to the Isle of Skye.
We stopped on numerous occasions as there were so many photographic opportunities. The water in the lochs was as still as a mill pond and the reflections were amazing.
We went to Attadale Gardens. Beautiful and so well maintained, lots of inspiration gained. We sat by the giant sundial and ate our smoked salmon and soft cheese sandwiches and watched the deer on he mountain tops.
Next stop was Plockton, . A lovely waterside village, with a great buzz to it. We wandered round looking at the boats and explored areas we had nt been to before. We found a nice seat in the sun that looked across the bay and had an icecream.
Then on to Skye ,over the bridge where you used to have to pay an expensive toll. We found a B&B in Carbost. Went for a walk to the pier and then had dinner in The Old Inn. I had Prawns and very tasty they were too.
After dinner we drove to Talisker and had a great walk to the black beach where we watched the sun setting over the bay. Plenty of sheep with lambs roaming around the hill side and a white Pea Hen :)
