Another bright and sunny Day
We were so pleased to wake to another dry day. After breakfast we headed for The fairy Pools on the way to Glen Brittle. We started the walk but I could nt get over the burn as the stepping stones were too far apart so we gave up :( and went to the beach instead. Wonderful and so peaceful . Plenty of birds around including lots of Sandpipers and a few curlew. We walked down to the river and watched swallows swopping low over the water.
We walked the length of the beach and sat on the stones with the Cuillin mountain range behind us listening to the sea gently lapping the sand.
I had a coffee from the camping shop and Mike had one of their prize winning hot chocolates. The sky larks were flying and singing overhead.
We then drove to Dunvegan where we bought some rolls and cake from the Oldest Bakery on Skye. We stopped at Stein on the Waternish peninsula and walked on the slipway which is one of the best dark sky locations in Europe. The water was crystal clear. From the craft shop I bought a locally made pottery bowl and a few cards.
Headed back through Portree and down to Broadford where we sat and had fish and chips and were not pestered by the gulls that are usually there.
We decided to drive through the mountains home and up past Lochness. We saw a whole herd of wild goats.
The sun was shining nicely on one of the top castles in Scotland, Eilean Donan Castle.
We arrived home just after 9 O clock.
Do nt forget to take a look at yesterdays blip too if you want to :)
