A 3am start and two planes later, I made it to Baltra airport in the Galapagos National Park. The guide of the boat tour I was taking for the next 5 days was waiting outside and rushed me and a few other people onto a bus to get to our boat - Yate Darwin.
A couple of hours later we had been given lunch and shown to our rooms on the boat. I was sharing with another British girl who was travelling on her own and ended up with the teeny top bunk in our teeny room. We landed on our first island a bit later and our naturalist guide took us along an amazing white beach and past about 20 sunbathing sea lion mothers and pups. We all had our snorkel gear with us and went for a wee swim around. After playing with some sea lion pups we headed back to the beach for a wander before getting back on Darwin and showering before dinner.
