Got up at 6am on my final morning in the Galapagos and packed up my things to head to the airport. Hoping to avoid the $18 taxi to the airport channel crossing, I first went to the Terminal Terrestre to find a bus. Without a person or bus in sight and after wandering around for 10 minutes, I gave up and found a taxi. The trip to the airport involved a taxi, a ferry across the channel and then a bus to get to the actual airport, and I rewarded myself for not getting lost with some pineapple juice and toast when I finally arrived. I was wrong to think I'd done all my souvenir shopping in Puerto Ayora since the airport had even more shops with even more fun Galapagos themed things to waste my money on. I eventually went through security and was confused to find my flight on final boarding call, realising that if I'd spent any more time picking out a giant tortoise badge I might have been stuck in the Galapagos.

3 hours later we landed in Quito and my trusty wee taxi driver was waiting for me with a Secret Garden hostel sign and a bottle of water. I spent the rest of the afternoon napping and then made everyone at dinner jealous with my Galapagos photos. Instead of staying in Quito until my flight to Colombia on Wednesday, I decided to book a couple of nights at the other Secret Garden hostel which overlooks Cotopaxi volcano.

(P.S I will update the Galapagos blips as soon as I find a computer that works well enough to let me sort through the photos!)
