Dingy

Very small, flighty and inconspicuous until he landed on the dandelion, this Dingy Skipper has such beautiful markings. Yes he was quite unremarkable being brownish but I loved his delicately patterned wings. He was very well camouflaged for the terrain, as on liftoff he bobbed round the ground and into the bushes getting totally lost in the leaves.

I went to my butterfly field expecting blues but not a blue butterfly in sight at the moment. There were also eight free roaming ponies on the loose  but Tilly and Poppy, strangely for them, weren't bothered. However I was a lot more wary as I didn't fancy the whole herd galloping towards me whilst in the middle of a bug photoshoot on the ground. I don't think you ever know what a pack of animals will do when they get excited. Having investigated both me and the mongrels they seemed quite satisfied all was well, so I wasn't going to get trampled!!
