Not snow. Pamukkale

Like the fabled pink and white terraces these are made of travertine. Rather wet when we arrived so we had just a quick look at these all white terraces. There are Roman ruins of higher up olis. Spelt Hierapolis - this large town was above these crystalline warm water and obviously the citizens enjoyed their baths etc.

Much of the water that should go to maintain and build these terraces is now diverted for the valuable hot spring water- our hotel has a pool using this water. There are also large pools on lower left of photo.
