Gardner's Enemy!

The Scarlet lily beetle.
Unfortunately found 4 on a pot of lilies.
Took this macro photo for "macro May" before they were "dispatched"!!
A warm and sunny day, and the wind has dropped. A change from yesterday.

What a wonderful wine tasting we had on Monday evening.
Duncan Brown, the Export Manager( for Brown Brother's, Australia,  )
UK/ Europe/ Middle East. is actually no relation to the Brown family who own the vineyards.
He was so enthusiastic about all the wines, and gave us a very interesting tasting.
My favourite was  18Eighty-Nine, Sauvignon Blanc, 2013 from Tasmania.
details see here
One of the best sauvignon blancs I have ever tasted.
MrC liked the red, 18 Eighty-Nine Shiraz, 2013. grown in the Heathcote area of Australia. and the
Limited Release Durif 2012, Petit Syrah.
None of them can be bought in Supermarkets, but from independent retailers.   The one in Leeds  is Latitude Wines.
A very unexpected evening, as I don't usually like Australian wines!
