The Bees are Buzzing in the Trees
And the starlings are chirruping in the soffits.
There are starlings nesting in our Neighbours' guttering. They got new guttering a couple of years ago and were horrified when the following year a family of starlings took residence - the flew in and out and in and out and dragged sticks, and leaves, and twigs,
Then all was quiet for a couple of weeks, and then all hell broke loose.
I have no idea how many babies there were - my only concern was that they wouldn't fall out of the net and become breakfast for the Kittehs.
The noise was amazing. .....little peeps in the morning, building through loud squeaking, and near hysterical squealing.... i loved it, but they weren't squeaking in my bedroom.
That being said, I still fancied them taking up residence in our new guttering this year, and I do believe they have, judging by the amount of bird shite, and twigs laying by the front door, however, I haven't heard a peep out of them.
The sun was shining and for an hour this evening it was decidedly WARM. So we sat outside and had our fish fingers (wholegrain doncha know) sandwiches. The babies next door were going ballistic. Mum and dad were flying in and out in relays, worms from the beak trying to satiate their hunger. It wasn't working.
And in this... our lovely, and first blossom tree- the bees were buzzing and buzzing as the pottered from bloom to bloom.
But.... I'm confused. Someone told me Honey Bees gather pollen; Bumble bee's pollenate - Isn't this a Bumble bee??? Why does he have great wads of pollen???.
