One of Istanbul's hidden treasures.....

An amazing visit today to the Basilica Cistern. It is a huge subterranean structure built in 532 to store water for the Great Palace of Byzantine. There are 336 marble and granite column set out in rows and covers a huge area. What a breathtaking sight!
