Philip

A long day!

Today I travelled to London - and for they first time in over 3 years that Philip and I have flown regularly from Geneva to Bristol the flight was severely delayed due to something other than weather!! A bird flew into the engine of the 'plane travelling from Nice to Geneva that should then have been on the onward flight to Gatwick! A 0930 flight eventually took off at 15:15! This meant that my planned lunch with ceri did not happen and I arrived just in time to board to board the red London bus bound for the zoo!

The 34th annual COBIS conference welcome Reception and Dinner was held at London zoo - starting in Tiger Territory  but other animals were on show too!

When Philip and I first moved to Geneva it was circus time (April and May) and we were very surprised to see the animals very casually tethered near the tents in road-side fields! These bactrian camels (2 humps!) looked slightly less 'scraggy' than those belonging to the circus. I have never seen a camel (either dromedary or bactrian) in its natural habitat and often wonder if they are just as scraggy!
