They're Here!

This is probably the fifth or sixth Painted Lady I've seen this week, and the third one today. This one was seen whilst we were out walking above St. Catherine's Woods in the east of the island. We also heard lots of birds including a woodpecker.

I remember back in 2009 when there was the huge migration of these butterflies all over the UK. They migrate from North Africa, but can't winter here because it's too cold. I wonder how many we'll get this year?
