St Guilhem le Desert

We have visited this village a number of times in recent years and watched it gradually develop its pottery shops and artists studios.  It gained "grand site" status in the last few years which has put it firmly on the tourist map and, you know what, now it is a bit spoiled and over developed.  In the square all the little tourist cafes offer the same confit de canard or galettes for 17 euros with a scanty desert thrown in.  We bought hamburgers from what looked like someone's front window for 7 euros and ate them in a little square dodging a rain shower on the way.
