Today we started digging the trench to run a gas line from the house to Joel's workshop. He needs a furnace in there for winter because the little torpedo heater he's been using doesn't get it nearly warm enough for an old guy. So, I was the laborer (that means trench digger) and Joel was the pipe fitter. Any Fitter worth his salt threads his own pipe, which is what Joel is doing in this photo. And, of course, doing it yourself saves precisely $5.
