The VOscars

15.5.15 and well done to rachelwhynot for being the first to notice the date! I have to admit despite making a mental note after I missed 1.5.15, I completely forgot as it was such a busy day!

First off, made it to church in the morning. Good service, and when it finished, we raced over to Lamcy for lunch and for G to get a birthday present. Home for a short rest before heading out at the worst time of the day to the other side of town to watch the new Cinderella movie. It took nearly 40 minutes to get a parking space* at that time!! In fact, it got so bad, G had to go on ahead to collect the tickets; fortunately already purchased online.

The cinema (VOX) are marking 15 years of being in business today and they were having their own special "VOscars". Unfortunately, we missed the actual presentation as it was the same time as our movie, but I couldn't resist capturing this moment for posterity!

Cinderella was most interesting and worth watching if you get the chance. Got back from there for enough time to have a cup of tea before heading out to our friends for a BBQ!! That was fun - good to catch up with our friends again - some of whom we have known for nearly 30 years! Not so common for a place as transient as Dubai. Way too tired to blip when I got home zzzzzzzzzz...

* Busy because this is the Mall that houses the Ski Slope
