Not the Yorkshire Sculpture Park
I messed things up this evening. I left work and headed for the Yorkshire Sculpture Park at Bretton as I thought it was the Museums at Night event. Onlly three cars in the car park when I arrived. Oops - wrong night! The event is on Saturday!
Plan B: a quick google search and 34 minutes later I am in the cafe at Nostell Priory. A National Trust property.
There was only a dozen or so visitors so I had most of the rooms to myself and personal attention from the guides. The derelict attics - originally used as servants' quarters, and later as WW2 barracks - were open to the public for the event. The house took on a totally different atmosphere as dusk fell.
