Back home

Time for breakfast, chat with some of the other guests and then off back to Athens.  We have had the most wonderful holiday here in Nafplio and also in Gialova.  Both places are so different, but have a special place in my heart.   Have taken away many special memories of this 12 day trip.  The Peloponnese is such a beautiful region of Greece.  The land is covered in every colour of wild flowers.  On our hike on Sunday we walked through a meadow from the secret cove that was knee deep in them.  There were brightly coloured butterflies, the most vivid being a yellow and orange one.  The beaches on the west coast, where we stayed at Gialova are quiet, with beautiful white sand.  The Greek people are so friendly, and the brothers who run the Marianna hotel bend over backwards for their guests.

A good trip up the highway to Athens airport, dropping off the hire car and then off to check-in.  Athens airport is very modern with good facilities.  Berlin (Teigel) in comparison was terrible!    Flight was on time and had a perfect landing at Edinburgh.  Boy it was cold though as we stepped out the plane...

Picked up Breagha who went crazy when we went through the door at my brother's place!  It was lovely seeing her again.  I wonder what they think.  Suppose all they care about is getting food and cuddles!!  

Consoled ourselves with a black pudding supper for tea with heating on at full pelt....
