Right way up

Happy Diamond Jubilee Your Majesty, I hope you have dried and thawed out after yesterday's flotilla.
I rarely need an excuse to fly a flag. I have this one and The Olympic Rings which I will take to The Olympics. I also have the Cross of St George in various sizes ranging from large to sun-eclipsing and these are raised any time England are playing anything.
There are many Union Jacks on display at the moment. Many, however, are the wrong way up. Wide white stripe to the top of the pole. I learned this many, many years ago in Cubs. I'm not sure many people realise there is a right way up for The Flag. So if you have learned from this blip I'm happy to be of service.
Today we had a party on the village playing fields with Punch & Judy, birds of prey displays, vintage cars, penalty shoot out, face painting and loads more stuff I've forgotten to mention. It wasn't really our scene but I did help with the setting up and taking down so I feel I did my bit for the "do".
