Feet up time
I'm shattered! You were about to get a boring blip of a road sign the as I opened my camera to blip it, I saw this shot and took it.
This morning I have been over to Nelson in the east of the County to measure The Hendon Brook challenge race.
It starts and finishes at a school of the same name and takes in areas of Nelson, Trawden and Colne, over a 13.4 mile route.
Happy Jacqui will be more familiar with this countryside than me and had I looked at the course route in advance there could have been a blipmeet.
However, had I looked at the route in advance may never have gone because by some margin this is the toughest route I have ever measured!
On 3 of the hills I had to get off and push the bike such was their severity and total ascent was over 2100 feet. Runhills will probably call it. Stroll in the park!
On the plus side the countryside is spectacular and the views were amazing. It's not a race for the faint of heart but it's worth doing just to say you did it!
I will probably have to record it as a hillly course but as it starts and finishes at exactly the same spot the hills average out so I could say it's flat (on average!)
Have a good week. I'm going back to sleep!
