St Vio

"The Celts were here from the 6 to 1st century BC the spherical stone at St Vio and other standing stones are witness to this period." This tiny church has been rebuilt several time partly due to the instability of the sand dunes. First In the Middle Ages by Saint Vio from Ireland.. R would be beheaded if he walked straight in. People were much smaller then. This is down near the estuary.and the Atlantic. They found old graves about 3.5 metres down. There is a large round slightly phallic shape rock which was rolled in times of drought. Some women also rubbed it to help get pregnant. Don't think rocks do it!
Struggling to put up extra pics via iPad.

Nearby on the coast are huge concrete structures presumable German defensive walls etc from the the last war. While around swans and wild life flourish.

Meanwhile today a motorised parapent or hang glider buzzed overhead.
