OMG....what a day!

I had a full day of tests and interviews today. I arrived at Manchester Blood Donor Centre only to find that I had left my glasses at home. This was a disaster as I had to be able to read and work on a computer...fortunately the lovely lady in reception lent me a pair that were good enough to see with....phew!

There were six of us there and we had tests to see who would go through for interviews. I had a moment of complete blankness when faced with the first written test, but thankfully I got myself into gear. Then a computer assessment and then inserting a needle into a false arm (I had really been looking forward to that part!).

Three of us were selected for interview, which really shocked me. I've never been through anything like this, it was a whole new world...a scary but exciting new world. They obviously liked what I said because I had a phone call in the afternoon to say that I had the job...I can't quite believe it! So....I am going to be part of the Blood Donor Team...yahoo!

I went to the Trafford Centre and met Chrissie and we had something to eat...I hadn't eaten all day and I was starving! It was whilst I was there that I received the good news. Actually, Chrissie hardly recognised me in proper clothes...smart clothes! And boots not trainers. And a handbag ha ha ha....I can scrub up when needs must ha ha ha.

I've just had a couple of glasses of bubbly to celebrate with my neighbour....I gulped it down and feel a little squiffy so I'm going to have a slice of toast lol.....

I'm glad I took my 'lucky photo' from yesterday with me!!!
