Afternoon at the Opihi Vineyard
It's been another stunning day in South Canterbury, perfect weather for exploring more of our relatively new back yard.
Mrs H and I decided today would be good for a tiki tour; initially we thought of taking a picnic but after I did a bit of googling we plumped for lunch at the Opihi Vineyard, close to Hanging Rock.
And a leisurely lunch it was too - we had the conservatory to ourselves, so we sat there drinking wine from the vines, watching the light play on the surrounding hills whilst pukekos browsed the lawns.
As we made our way back via Raincliff and the Fairlie Highway, I stopped at the top of the hill overlooking the vineyard to get this shot looking back towards the Opihi valley.
In today's extra photos, I've included a stalight shot from the front garden, taken after midnight as the galactic centre of the Milky Way arched over the trees. This one was again shot with the 8mm fisheye lens, ISO6400, 51".
