Tyne Reflections

The choir enjoyed a day out in Haddington at the invitation of our Musical Director, who organised a guided tour of St Mary's Church (which boasts two stained glass windows by Burne-Jones) and a sing-through of a few favourite anthems followed by a delicious buffet lunch at his home in the Garleton Hills.

Some of us headed off for walks along an ancient pathway, either west towards the fort or east past Barnes Castle for a view of the village of Athelstaneford, then back to sit in blazing sunshine listening to the trilling of skylarks, watching swallows swooping over the rooftops and trying to decide whether the animals in the distance were rabbits or hares.

Thanks, G, for a brilliant day.

My blip is the view from the churchyard. The extra photo is a detail from a Burne-Jones window entitled Christ and the woman of Samaria.
