A Walk down the Cut

It should have been so much better.  We were walking along a disused section of canal,  near our home when we caught sight of a water vole swimming along.  I had the right camera and lens, quickly brought it to my eye, fired off some shots and then went for the 'chimp' moment.

Oh, dear!  Despite having set up the camera with appropriate ISO, wide open aperture and a good shutter speed, I had inadvertently knocked the aperture knob and had shot at f/22!  Artistic it might have been, but not in focus!

So instead you have a female mallard, stretching her wings.  Oh, well, at least I know where "Ratty" lives now.
