"Spread Your Tiny Wings And Fly Away"
Busy sorting papers and stuff again today so didn't get out with the camera until the evening.
We've had plenty of rain and the bugs weren't liking it. I think this is a spreadwing damselfly. It rests with its wings sort of at half mast. Most damsels fold their wings parallel with their bodies. Dragons spread theirs wide at right angles to their bodies.
Got me singing Snowbird from 1970.
PS It has been kindly pointed out by bug expert uniqueandlovely that this is not a spreadwing but a newly emerged red-eyed damselfly. I'm going to try to add a mature red-eyed to extra photos. I photographed it nearby. It is wearing a water droplet hat. :)
