Messing around on the River

Another lovely day out with the photo group.  We were transported down the canal on an eighty year old narrow boat, drawn by the horse named Ben. Without a motor to drown the sounds, it really is a lovely way to travel.  Even better when you have a homemade scone, laced with lashings of cream and jam, in hand.
On board there were also two other blippers, BrightNBreezy1 and BytheWay.

After the trip, four of us went off into Godalming for a coffee then BrightNBreezy and I. together with another member of the group had a lazy walk back along the riverbank. It wasn't a quick walk. The macro lenses came out and the insects were our aim.

I'm not sure they approved of me jumping ship to take this photo when we arrived at a lock. I reckoned I had time whilst they filled the basin to let the boat through. This may not be the best image of the day but sums it up... and you are spared another bug.
