Natures Patterns

A quick indoor blip today - its pouring with rain outside.

I bought this lovely ammonite some years ago in Robin Hoods Bay - I loved the pattern on it. Just for further information I found the following if anyone is interested.

"This ammonite shell has been cut through to reveal the internal chambers and walls As the creature grows, its body moves forward in the shell to a new living chamber, secreting septa behind it. This adds new chambers to the shell, which can be clearly seen in cross-sections of the shell "
