Gallop

A final Artweeks foray into South Oxfordshire - and a walk around the village of Garford.

The walk had the traditional Oxfordshire theme of being way-marked for the first half-mile then becoming a somewhat attritional navigation exercise around missing/blocked stiles and overgrown field margins. Anyone might think that the farmers don't want us on the footpaths.

The highlight, however, was the sight, and fantastic sound, of a group of horses running in the fields at the start of the walk. I can't remember hearing the sound of hooves so clearly (other than on a western sound-track).
