Tortoiseshell

I had my blip for today sorted at 9am. Or so I thought. Some rhododendrons at the top of the road are spectacular but just about on the turn. The sun was shining the sky was blue. Job done.

Then spent a day off looking (occasionally) at emails but mainly spring out the gas over, repairing some kitchen cupboard doors which after 27 years need some TLC. Getting dinner ready. Then into the garden to plant out some of the seedlings.

And then this tortoiseshell butterfly obligingly sat on a strawberry plant for some time before fluttering to other plants. Many shots later I've chosen this one as my favourite. The weather turned out better than forecast - as my lobster face tomorrow will testify. All in all a good relaxing day.
