Up on the roof
We could nt work out where the noise was coming from. The loud piping of the Oyster Catchers was close by, I'm sure if you listen carefully you'll be able to hear them. Then I spotted them , up on the roof, three of them being very vocal. One has a silver ring on it's leg. I wonder what it's story is.
We also had a baby robin in the garden but a very brief visit. I hope it will be back.
A great visit from JJ from Old Allangrange telling the Brownies all about bees I learnt a lot too. Did you know a bee can fly 3 miles looking for food and needs the equivalent of a Mars Bar every 30 seconds to stay alive. She gave the Brownies some bee friendly plants and we have a few to make a planter for outside the Town Hall. These included one of the best plants to have Borage, also nasturtiums and St Johns Wort.
We're going on a bee hunt next week so hope it will be dry even if it's not sunny.
David needed take some photos for his book so we popped down to Rosemarkie Beach after brownies. There was a lovey rainbow and swallows were flying low over the beach. The trees were full of the sound of rooks.
Another very bright rainbow just now. Off to bed soon my eyes are suffering at the moment.
