Sadness for a Stranger

Blip is a marvellous thing as it transports us into the lives of people we may never meet. You start to feel connections with other people's lives and follow their ups and downs as their life unfolds in front of you.

Today I decided to catch up on looking at journals including Emma whose journal I have followed for a couple of years now. She has described candidly the challenges of being a single mum, the reenactment hobby she shares with her teenage son, her studies, and the ups and downs of her relationship with her partner. In recent weeks something had come between them and as I caught up on her penultimate entry it was nice to see that they'd spent a lovely day together as a family and were full of optimism for their future together.

As I clicked forward to the next day it was such a shock to see that her partner died suddenly yesterday morning and she was grief stricken. How do you express condolences to someone you don't know - with just a comment space to communicate through? So this flower is for Emma and Joe and the terrible shock they are dealing with. I hope she'll see this and know that there are people  who are thinking about her at this dreadful time.
