Here there and everywhere

Mr and Mrs

These are coasters which were a pressie to me and Bb a few weeks ago from two of my colleagues! I love them! I think they might be famous old Egyptian actors, but I'm not sure.

Yesterday in my blip I said, when speaking of this current group of trainees, that there would be tears and tantrums before bedtime. Today, five female trainees cried and two of the men were very close. One of the guys revealed that he'd stayed in our training room all night last night, working till 5.00am this morning! Of course, for his own health, this can't be repeated and the school security staff shouldn't have allowed it anyway. This is only the end of week 2 and we have another two weeks to go. Despite our insistence that development is what we're looking for, they're super stressed, seem to be striving for perfection and there are a few who just aren't using their energy wisely. 1-1 tutorials are on Sunday and we'll have to talk about this stress. We honestly couldn't be more supportive as trainers and perhaps we just have to accept that this huge burden that they're all carrying around with them connected to exams, being assessed etc is bigger than us. We asked, as we always do mid-course, if there was anything more we could do to support them, do anything differently, change anything etc and there was a resounding 'no, you're super supportive'. I gave the girls a pep talk and I think they finished the day a bit better.

That aside, it's now the weekend! Yay! Appointment booked to have my nails done tomorrow with a friend and then a trip to an art market later in the afternoon. The morning is set aside to enjoy Bb's book cover designs, which I haven't looked at yet as I want to have the time and brain space to enjoy them.
