Just Fledged... We Did It!
The Blue Tits fledged first thing this morning. We became aware of the “feed me mummy” tweetings as we were having our early morning cuppa. Looked out the window, there was one clinging to the green house ridge, another flew into the window and down onto the flat roof. One other landed somewhere in the garden. I think these were the last weeker ones to leave the nest as there was little sign of the other five except distant tweetings. I rescued these three several times from awkward places. The parents would come and offer them food, but not give it, then fly away tempting them to fly and follow to join the others. They didn’t have much success as this evening two of them had only got as far as a tree just outside our front gate. The parents are still feeding them and coming for meal worms. Lets hope they find somewhere safe and snug to roost tonight.
