A Writer's Life

Going home

We didn't have a great night. Oli's fifth tooth finally broke through, and it was apparently rather painful. His fever was down, though, so that's good. As for me, I officially have a cold.

I still had to find a tiny bit of land to get near the sea. So we drove, taking the scenic route through fields beaten by the winds, until we go to Kamouraska where I was finally able to get out of the car and near the water. I had to introduce my boy to it too, though it was way too cold to dip his feet in it.

Then we drove home to my mom's, because I was rather sick. And there came a moment when Oli had had enough of being tied in his car seat, so we had to stop every now and then to let him stretch a bit. But we made it, and he spent the next hour or so just crawling everywhere, happy to be finally free.
