Detail from 'Waking Up' by Richard Gale

Attended an Enterprise Ireland event (invited by a client) at The Mall Galleries near Trafalgar Square. Really liked this painting and the story with it. 

The painting shows the artist's two children soon after he had parted from his wife: "The painting attempts to express the realisation of the new set of circumstances that we found ourselves in. Not so much traumatic, more bewildering...."

My parents separated when I was 10. Bewildering sounds about right.
