Off to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for a swim this morning, lunch at wahaca then back just in the nick of time for +2/3 to go riding. Phew. The aquatics centre is a lovely building and the adjustable floor in the smaller pool was very nifty but despite being only three years old the place is falling to bits: locker doors hanging off, only two showers working (for a couple of hundred people in the swimming session), barcode entry system not working, ... I don't get it: why spend millions of pounds on potentially amazing facilities but then penny pinch on keeping the place running?
