Concrete and wood

John Grindod's superb book Concretopia tells of the development of post war Britain. Here he describes beautifully the realationship between concrete and wood at The National Theatre quoting a 1975 The Times review.

Wonderful to read this relationship discused so poetically, for me the two materials align to remind us that a city - although man made - is still at heart and in character an organic entity.
