Work starts tomorrow

Spent much of today getting our backroom ready for the start of some structural works on Monday morning. This is a saga which has dragged on for about three and a half years, since we first noticed a small crack between an old extension and the original house. After much monitoring and general incompetence on the part of the loss adjuster we finally secured agreement from the insurance company to carry out structural repairs. This will involve cutting slots in the wall and inserting resin-bonded tie-bars. It's going to be very messy for a couple of weeks but we're just glad it's finally being sorted out as this will enable us to get on with renewing our kitchen.
