Patterson Creek
I had a meeting at 10.30 in Christchurch.
When I left it seemed necessary to head to the shop straight across the road - The Photo Warehouse. I've been wanting to buy a BlackRapid for some time (thanks Katey and Jipsy for the recommendation), but felt it would be best to actually try it rather than just buying online. I'm glad I did - to make sure I got the right one for me.
I also remembered to purchase the filter I've been wanting. That WAS to be the end of my shopping - but Farmergirl talked me into buying a new tripod too! She is dangerous to be in shops with.
On the trip home, about 90 minutes out of Christchurch, we came across an accident - a car having had an argument with the cliff face - the cliff won. It was in the middle of the road and seriously damaged, so Farmerboy gave them a hand to tow it out of the way. Farmergirl and I went in either direction to flag down traffic. I stayed well back initially - I couldn't have coped very well if anyone was hurt - too many thoughts of fatal accidents. Fortunately the only person in the car wasn't badly hurt.
Then when we were nearly home the news on the radio told us there'd been a fatality south of Oamaru. Bad memories forcing their way in. My thoughts go the the family of the deceased.
NB: Sorry Wombat - I couldn't pass up another waterfall blip so my participation in Tiny Tuesday will have to wait until next week :-)
I finally got around to posting some Vivid photos on Flickr
