Morning crew

This group of dogs hangs around the stalls just before our turn into the park. The last stall in the row (not shown) is where we might get a chai after class, or maybe an idli (steamed, fermented rice cake--great for a little stomach upset I had the other day). Fruit comes crashing down out of a tall tree right over the chai wallah's stand. Two in our party were hit squarely on the head when we were there.

Today in class Prashant observed (my paraphrase): You take so much care of your face: your eyes, your cheeks, your hair, your lips. But do you pay attention to the soles of your feet? You have lipstick. Why don't you have toe stick?

(Does he not know how much time and money some people spend on the care of their feet?)

A bunch of folks in the Iyengar Yoga community are at the Institute right now because they're filming something for International Yoga Day (June 21). In class I sat right in front of Birjoo Mehta. Later, during the 9-12 practice session, Birjoo, Zubin, and another couple teachers did amazing demonstrations of asanas as Abhijata spoke about yoga. We were all doing our thing in the practice hall right in view for the cameras, but I heard the camera man say that everyone not in the show could be blurred out. Good thing!
