Funchal

Back blip

Today is a free day...... our hotel is in a bay outside of Funchal, so we walked into town in the morning...... took an hour to stroll along the coast in the sunshine...... after coffee we walked around looking at the various sights in the town, then we took an open top bus tour of Funchal and the surrounding area.  My main photo is of the town, and my extra one is of a little harbour we passed on our open top bus tour. 

It is very pleasant in the sunshine, the temperature has been consistently in the 20'sC since we arrived, and we have heard stories of bad weather at home, so we consider ourselves fortunate.

We took the courtesy bus back to the hotel.  We are on an all inclusive tariff, and it is just amazing...... we had a lovely dinner, and then I am trying to try out all the cocktails, in the interests of science of course.

And we had a wee dance tonight.
