Adam Smith

This statue of Adam Smith - once a Professor here - stands at the bottom of the stair in the main administrative building of Glasgow University.

I have passed it many times but today I was struck anew by its elegance and power, perhaps because I had been thinking of his "invisible hand" this very morning driving in to a series of meetings in the place.
